The configuration pages for BM hot spot security in pistar allow you to enter a password. If the password contains and exclamation point !, when the page refreshes you will be told you need to select your modem type. When you select the modem and click apply and the page refreshes, you are told you need to select your modem type (nice loop there). Apparently the config file parser breaks when it sees the ! character in the password field.
You can create a new clean config file without the ! character in the BM hos spot security password field and all is well (unless you actually used the ! character in the password on the BM selfcare side

then you need to set a different BM hot spot security password).
