I'm looking for a method to boot on an ssd plugged into a usb port without sd card in the raspberry.

There are several places on the web where you can search for this info.
But you need to take into account pistar is an image, with a file structure, with specific files and folder setup in places on an sd card that won't be the same as an external ssd. So this most prob. won't work off the bat, unless your willing to put in a lot of work.
And not to take the pi55 but if you know how to do all that, you'll most prob. already know how to mount /use an ssd setup.
