Understand that this will work on Raspbian but was wonder if will work on Pi-Star??

Ok, Raspian. So, the question still is:Pi-star IS Raspbian. It just has some applications, scripts and tweaks added to the base lite image (and some applications removed). But it is just Raspbian.
Can we have USB-ETH converter attached to use LAN ?
If so,
Any aditional packet needs to be installed?
Thanks for helping !

On my first PI0w I used a USB-ETH converter and an OTG adapter to get it set up. This was long before I learned about the Wi-Fi builder and WAY before the built in hotspot.EA3BIL wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 10:07 amOk, Raspian. So, the question still is:Pi-star IS Raspbian. If you use a USB-ETH on your Pi 0 it will use that before using Wi-Fi, and if you unplug it, it will switch to Wi-Fi.

Ok, I'll have a look to make sure I get the right converter.Your best option would be buy a brand and model that people have reported a successful test.
There are compatibility listings all over the web. https://elinux.org/RPi_USB_Ethernet_adapters

Re: USB boot on Pi-zero w
The old SIIG "USB 2.0 Fast Ethernet Adapter" (v1.0 02-1327A) is recognized on an R-Pi 3B+ running Buster as
pi@rpi3bplus-1:~$ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0b95:7720 ASIX Electronics Corp. AX88772
Don't know how the newer SIIG branded units are (I think I own a USB-3/Gigabit model, but haven't used it -- most of these were needed in my prior job where a lot of network testing was done: output on one NIC, to some external hardware, input back on a second NIC, logging time-stamps to determine latency, packet loss, etc.)
