Jumbo spot leave on or off
Jumbo spot leave on or off
When I go to bed at night I've been unplugging my hotspot. Should I leave it plugged in 24/7 or unplug it at night? I just read some updates happen at night is the reason for my question.
Re: Jumbo spot leave on or off
There's a thread A couple days back asking near the exact same Q.
If you leave them on 24/7 as many do, try to get in the habit of unlinking them from tgs, repeaters, reflectors etc. So they don't burn up resources when not being used.

Re: Jumbo spot leave on or off
I must have missed that thread when I did my search. Being new to all this, how do I "unlinking them from tgs, repeaters, reflectors etc"?
Re: Jumbo spot leave on or off
I think I found my answer. I should turn it off in the dashboard software but leave it plugged into power. Is this correct?
Re: Jumbo spot leave on or off
If you leave it powered up then best to leave it all running. The updates happen at 4am local.
Disconnecting is usually achieved by selecting reflector 4000 if using DMR. You can use the manager for YSF and DSTAR, also for Brandmeister.

Re: Jumbo spot leave on or off
DMR tg4000 when linked to a Tg.
(or private call 4000 if linked to a BM reflector, pc84000 DMR+ reflector, pc64000 XLX reflector)
________U 'that's 7spaces then a U' for DSTAR.
The # key in YSF.
Not sure with p25 / NXDN ??
I only use those links with crossover modes from either YSF or DMR.

Thanks, all, for your help. Got TG4000 programmed in so I should be good to go now.
