Has anyone tried stacking an LTE hat under an MMDVM? It seems like something interesting to try. Even if you haven't, What are your thoughts?

Thank you, that is what I was looking for. It sounds good in theory and would make a great mobile device.

A quick look with a search string of "Pi LTE HAT" found this:

However it uses the whole of the GPIO connector and I don't know how you would make use of it without a HAT that gives you the UHF RF access.
In all honesty bridging to a dedicated 4G device via WiFi is probably more sensible if you don't want to use a phone WiFi hotspot.
