USB power control...

Post by M6XRM »

Hi.

I’m not sure if this is a hardware or OS question to be honest, but I’ll post here anyway.

When I reboot or shutdown Pi-star on my RPI4, it shuts of power to the USB ports even with the power supply still plugged in. My Zumsport USB and my Nextion screen physical turn off.

However, performing the same thing with my RPIZero, the USB stays active, and my Nextion screen stays powered.

Is this just a hardware difference between the two models, or Is there a setting somewhere where USB power can be toggled?

Cheers...

Thanks...

Not that I'm aware of.

You could use a pimoroni power shim, and when you press the button it would shutdown the RPi properly and kill all power.

Thanks for the reply, Sir.
I like the look of that shim, but will require some extra modding to my case, which i'm pretty happy with.
if my H/S was an exposed-board setup, then perhaps.
