http://pi-star ADDRESS NOT WORKING

Post by HK5FCI »

Gentlemen:

Last week the internet service provider replaced both the modem and decoders in my home, for which the WiFy ID and password changed.

Since then, I have unsuccesfully tried to connect to the address http://pi-star.

If that address is not in service any more, how can I modify the Pi-Star Digital Voice configuration?

I will highly appreciate your help.

If the R-Pi is unable to connect to the, now defunct, WiFi credentials, it will create a one-time access point.

From your computer, first disconnect from whatever network connection you are using, then search for WiFi access points and connect to the one identifying as a Pi-Star node. You will NOT have internet access, only access to the hotspot. You should then be able to connect to the configuration page(s) to add the credentials for the new Wifi system. Reboot hotspot -- if the credentials are correct, it should connect to the WiFi router. Reset computer to original network connection.

OR...

Create a WPA Supplicant file with the new credentials https://www.pistar.uk/wifi_builder.php Put the SD card into a suitable card reader on your computer and copy the created file to the BOOT partition (which is a FAT format so Windows computers can see it). Put SD card back into R-Pi and boot it.
