Reflector/Repeater Connectivity

Post by N7MWL »

I started using a pi-star in the version 3 era and could connect to any DSTAR reflector or any DSTAR repeater that allowed.

when upgraded to version 4, I can still connect to any DSTAR reflector,
however, it appears the connectivity to any DSTAR repeaters has gone.

what changes in version 4, if any, were done that will not allow repeater connection?

is there a fix in the "Expert" section that may need to be modified?

Any assistance would e appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

You need to build a list in the custom host lists found in /root with any rptr you are interested in connecting with.

Add its callsign and its IP address, as shown by the example shown in the host.
Add the entry in the host file that applies to the protocol used by the rptr.

Thanks for the response, however, I think I will pass "building a repeater list w/IP Address in the /root"
seems it should not be necessary since linking to repeaters in version 3 worked.
Thanks again
