RPT1 Validation

Post by wa7htj »

Is there a way to disable the RPT1 validation with MMDVMHost like there is with DStarRepeater?

No.
'KLX took the decision not to implement the ability to ignore rpt1 & 2 validation when he moved to MMDVM.

My guess. his thoughts are users should know how to correctly setup their radios.

True, but when you setup a simplex hotspot and set you ID-51A+ to a simplex frequency and then find out that Icom will not transmit the RPT1 & 2. I know the trick is to use a dup offset of 000kkHz, but not everyone knows that.

Not at first maybe, but if they ask here, on the FB group or Telegram group a 100 users will soon let them know abt it.

Ps. Its in situ as its part of the dstar original protocol as written up by jarl.
Back then there were no alt. but an icom rptr. So it stays true to the reverse engineering of the std.
