DAPNET - pager not receiving anything

Post by M6IGP » Fri Apr 28, 2023 11:18 am

Hi

I just received an Alphapoc 620R pager and I had already signed up to DAPNET, configured (in theory!) pi-star etc. Pi-star appears to receive pager messages from the 'net and transmit them but the pager never sees them. The pager is set correctly with my RIC and frequency etc. Pi-star works fine on the three radio digimodes I run it on.

I have subsequently disabled the radio modes on pi-star so only POCSAG is enabled, and set the radio frequency to the same 439.9875 that was already set in the POCSAG section. An FM radio held nearby with the squelch open never hears anything, even with an antenna attached instead of the dummy load it usually has (and which works fine with the radios).

So I am rather stuck as to what to check next. I am of course assuming this new pager actually works, no other way to test it. I may be wrong but I would expect at least short bit of hash via a radio when it transmits. Any ideas please?

Logs:

Edit: the setup has a dvmega hat, "MMDVM protocol version: 1, description: DVMEGA HR3.14"

Clearly I lost my ability to find things via google even though I tried! Now I found that the dvmega won't work I swapped for a mmdvm duplex - all sorted now. Duh.
