Dstar high receive ber

Post by M7DVK »

High all I’ve got three Zumspot units. One DMR. One ysf and one set up for dstar. When I receive a transmission from a dstar station it shows very high ber and is in red. If I add a ysf or DMR to the same hotspot. They show receive 0% no issues. But as soon as it receives a dstar jumps back to red and 8%. I have no issues with receiving DMR or ysf on the same hotspot. Any ideas?

Youll need to make adjustments to rx offset to better "tune" for DSTAR use.
In admin/expert/edit_mmdvmhost.php

Start by changing values up or down in 100 hz steps to see if ur hotspot better receives.

As you get closer to 0.00 BER, change the values in smaller steps.

Alt. Look at using pistar-mmdvmcal to have ur hotspot report the offset it thinks best.

If I have it so picks up ysf and dstar won’t that effect the ysf rx as well?

Typically, yes -- you'll have to find a compromise setting that works for both modes, or reserve the unit for just a single mode.
