Raspberry Pi 3 B +, which Pi-star to use?

Post by Kc4vfz »

Hi, I'm having problems getting my Pi-Star hot spot going. I have installed and configured a version from this month (2/24) but I'm not hearing any traffic. I'm wondering, what is the latest image that is compatible with my Pi?? Thanks

This one is what you should be using:

Pi-Star_RPi 4.1.8
Or
Pi-Star_RPi 4.2.1

I got 4.2.1 set up last night. I'm still not hearing any traffic. The only thing I hear is when my Pi-Star starts up and it links to the reflector. I hear nothing when attempting an Echo test. I'll try to grab some snapshots of my configuration and post them tonight.

Added some screen shots. Any advice is appreciated.

Did you check the frequency of the TCXO of your MMDVM? Sometimes there are frequency deviations of a few 100 Hz for the RX/TX-frequencies.

Where can I check the TCXO of my MMDVM? Is that in Expert settings?

The parameters are called RXOFFSET and TXOFFSET. You can find them under configuration-expert-mmdvm. With this parameters you can adjust the frequency-deviation of the TCXO.

Your TCXO-frequency should be 14.7456 MHz. An offset of 100 Hz leads to a deviation of abt 3 kHz for the Rx/TX-frequencies at 430 MHz.
There are a few threads dealing with this problem on this forum.

Both RXOFFSET and TXOFFSET are set to 0. The TCXO-frequency shows 14.7456 MHz. Do I need to adjust these now??
