MMDVM gateway one last try and Im throwing in the towel!

Ok I'm trying to program a MMDVM model 7 (just reporting what's on the screen) I have downloaded the Pi-Star_RPi_V4.2.1_17-Feb-2024.zip but it kept coming up as corrupt and there was nothing on my computer to work with.
Tried couple different times and same thing.
I thought I would try Pi-Star_RPi_V4.1.8_16-Feb-2024.zip same thing just not updated... well that one finally downloaded wrote the image to my sd card got the wifi info fine dropped that into the sd card with the image file put it in the hot spot and NOTHING! still reads Initializing across the top.
I have followed how many videos asked how many people sat at this desk three straight nights and Im ready to give up, anyone able to help?

what operating system are you using? windows, OSX, linux?

that "initializing" sounds like it's trying to find the wifi

I have seen at times if the image was wrote from the zipped file it would cause that problem. I just always unzip the file before writing the image to the sd card.

Hey sorry I didn't respond sooner I must need to check my notification settings.
I'm running a Zum PI ZERO (guy I got it from was mistaken and thought it was a Elite 3,5)
on a mmdvm 3.5 screen with Windows 7/11 Seven is my setup computer 11 is my actual controlling point just easier that way so my projects don't clutter up my main computer.

I downloaded the latest image file and the supplicant file, dropped it into the boot with Raspberry pi imager put it in the hotspot and NOTHING!
sits there initializing . if I pull up my WIFI tab in the right corner I get a pistar setup but I shouldn't get that in my wifi should I? I left it to configure about three hours but it still has nothing.
When I setup with the pi image writer it does have a section were you put in your router id and password could that be the issue?

If you use the pi image write. yeah, fill out as much as within it as you can.

Well I went shopping looking for a Pi 0 2, didn't find one but ended up with a pi4 starter from canakit.

Did you get the other 1 up and running. My Pi pile is getting large on my shelf I have 4 of them rascals running now doing different task.
