Hello folks
This problem is present again as of version 4.1.8.
The DTMF control no longer works in the D-Star.
Has anyone already found a solution?

Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
Re: Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
Hi Folks:
Over the last couple of months, I have noticed that DTMF decoding on 2 of my repeaters has stopped working. This was a very convenient method of linking, unlinking, etc., when mobile. If it matters, the two systems that have lost the dtmf decoding capability are both running the Repeater Builder STM32DVM v3 Board (USB connectivity).
I have another 2 systems running the Repeater Builder STM32DVM Pi Hat Board, and DTMF decoding continues to work on those two systems!
I was going to attempt a f/w update on one of the USB boards yesterday, but the latest f/w seems to be v4 (at least per the instructions on the RB site): https://www.repeater-builder.com/produc ... USB_v3.pdf
Has anyone else experienced this loss of DTMF decoding issue, or have a solution that I can try?
Thanks,
Ramesh, VA3UV, WA3UV, G4PNQ

Re: Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
Hi Folks:
Here is a bit more information in case it helps...
VA3PMO running Pi-Star 4.1.6 / MMDVMHost_20240210_PS4 --> DTMF no longer working
VA3DVI running Pi-Star 4.2.1 / MMDVMHost_20240210_PS4 --> DTMF is working
VE3RSD (this is a two module system, the Gateway and one of the modules is on VE3RSD B and the 2nd module is on a second Pi, VE3RSD C):
VE3RSD B running Pi-Star 4.1.8 / MMDVMHost_20240210_PS4 --> DTMF no longer working
VE3RSD C running Pi-Star 4.1.6 / MMDVMHost_20240210_PS4 --> DTMF is working!!!
This last one is puzzling... I changed the parameters in the hidden Remote Control file (and re-booted) and that doesn't seem to make a difference, DTMF works regardless, so I am under the impression that the DTMF decoding and communication with ircddbgateway is being performed via some other means.
The other common thing between VA3DVI and VE3RSD C is that these two systems are running the Pi-Hat version of the Repeater Builder STM32DVM board, whereas VA3PMO and VE3RSD B are running the USB version of the same board.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ramesh, VA3UV, WA3UV, G4PNQ

Re: Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
OK folks (if anyone is reading this!)...
The 2 systems that are successfully decoding DTMF are both simplex hotspots. The 2 systems that are not decoding DTMF are full duplex repeaters.
So, on one of my repeaters, I just changed the config in Pi-Star to make it a simplex hotspot... and voila, DTMF decoding works!!
Hope this now allows someone to look into the issue.
Cheers,

Re: Loss of DTMF Decoding PLUS loss of ability to edit ircddbgateway config file from Expert Menu
Hi Folks:
Not seeing any traction or even response to my posts about the loss of DTMF on full-duplex installations, I reached out to Jonathon, G4KLX to see if he was aware of the issue and if a fix was in the works. He mentioned that he was not aware of the issue and I was told to use "normal support channels" to report the issue.
If this forum is not one of the "normal support channels" can someone please enlighten me as to how to report bugs (or issues)?
Thank you.
