That’s my point. The average pi-star user doesn’t know how to SSH or edit config files. The web GUI includes an update button, but that’s non-functional. The main download should include a functional update mechanism.
I had to manually update the repo URLs. I'm not experienced with *nix systems (been a Windows systems developer all my life!) so it took a while to wade through various idiotic and inaccurate descriptions of what to do before I found the one that actually made sense and worked. Understood what I needed to do, just not how to do it.

The Debian version being used for the Pi-Star 4.1/4.2 base will not auto-update without doing this.
