YSF "service Not Started" and changing rooms

Post by KD8DVR »

Two issues.
The first: When changing rooms, the new room you are connected to does not display on the reflector window on the hotspot.

The second: After changing rooms, the YSF Net goes red and the YSF network displays "service not started" It takes several minutes for everything to clear up and go green again, although sometimes it won't go green at all and I have to reboot.

It might be that the Wires-X data is being badly decoded because of a small frequency offset, the C4FM header doesn't have any error correction bits so you might try offsetting the frequency of the Pi-Star receiver a little in each direction and see if it helps.

KD8DVR Has posted the exact same (it looks like there is something wrong with the update from 4.1.10 to 4.3.4) problem we have experienced when updating to 4.3.4

Make sure you also have the Host files in uppercase option set, it's required for the FT-70 radios.

Please DO keep in mind that 4.3.x is still in beta, we're working on D-Star issues currently but I'll start looking into the YSF stuff soon.

I’ve come back to lovely pi-star the original! Installed the 4.3.4 beta and running DMR/DStar without a hitch thus far for 2 days. Appreciate the efforts thus far and the always friendly bunch here!

Cheers!

Welcome back! - Yes, Andy is extremely helpful and easy to work with. Rather than ignoring bug reports and telling you it's a user problem, we were able to get to the bottom of some D-STAR issues (in MMDVMHost) and got those resolved, for the benefit of all distro's that rely on G4KLX's code.

Further, there is a Production branch as well as a Beta Branch, which I really like having a bunch of repeaters running at remote sites. I need to be conservative and cautious with updates, and Pi-Star offers this.

Thank you, Andy for all that you do behind the scenes to make Pi-Star a stable platform!

Cheers,
