pi-star shows connected but won't, bricked?

ok, did the firmware update, now I can't even connect, or see it on the wifi,
only the green light, and blinking red.
reloaded a new pi-star on a new sd card, and still nothing.
Been reading around the net shorting pin 20 to ground forces a firmware reset.
any ideas on this one?


AT&T wifi home modem here.
seems configured and connected
192.168.1.109 / pi-star on Wi-Fi Wi-Fi 5 bars 2.4 GHz, Guest,

even have the mac address isolated with 5.0 off, only 2.4 enabled

but the pi wont initialize.
just a red blinking light. name and password are correct.
