Time Announcement feature

Post by 2E0LGZ »

Hi does anyone know if the time announcement will transmit when connected to a node? e.g. REF001C? i think its a great little feature but dont want to be sending time beacons over the internet and onto other nodes and becoming a nuisance
thanks in advance

I believe the time announcements get transmitted to your radio, but not out to the network.

Correct. All announcements stay local. They don't play out over the reflector network.
It would cause chaos if they did.

Where is this time announcement feature... I wouldn't mind having an hourly reminder...

It's DSTAR mode only.

A check button on the Dstar section of the pistar configuration.

Time Announcements.
Std. setup is announced on the hr.
You can change that for 1/4 or 1/2hr announcements by manual edit of ircddbgateway on the expert pages.
