Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
Hi all.
I see a number of posts about linking to REF00x but none appear to be similar to my issue.
I have recently upgraded a MMDVM repeater and all is fine, except it will not link to any REF00x reflectors. I know my router is fine as I have access to REF reflectors with a zumspot radio running pistar. I have checked all ports are open in the router on the IP address of the MMDVM repeater.
I am assuming it is a setting within the pistar setup for the MMDVM repeater that is causing the issue. Suggestions?
Keith

What do the log files show at the time of attempted linking?

Re: Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
Not very helpful, I'm afraid... Mine shows... NOTE: I'm using PuTTY to view the actual log files, not that "live log" page... I also stripped out anything for other user traffice
The ircDDBGateway*.log shows (also stripped to just my actions)
(Think my D74 is configured to send GPS data at the end of each PTT)

Ok, I’ll have to work out how to view the log file. Happy with using SSH but not getting to vie2 the log file. I’ll post the results when i can view it.
Re: Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
Code: Select all
tail -f /var/log/pi-star/{i,M}*.log
Re: Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
I didn't actually use a wildcard (I only put that into the post to represent the date stamp part of the name).
I used
cat /var/log/pi<tab complete/irc<tab complete -- or double tab to get listing>
However, your syntax IS working for me...

Re: Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
Hi, i have started having this problem too with a portable hotspot and personal gateway, the public gateway works fine.
Hotspot: G1KEA-D, JumboSpot & Pi Zero, Pi-Star 4.0.0. RC3, running MMDVMHost DStar and DMR enabled - DCS ok, REF not connecting
Personal Gateway: G1KEA-C, DVMega GMSK modem & Pi 2, Pi-Star 3.4.13 running DStarRepeater - DCS ok, REF not connecting
Public Gateway: MB6IKW-B, Zum-Radio MMDVM & Pi 3, Pi-Star 4.0.0. RC3, running MMDVMHost DStar and DMR enabled - works fine
Used to work fine up until recently - cannot figure it out, anyone any ideas?

Re: Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?
If ur attempting to connect both HS's to the same reflector using the same callsign. This might be the issue.
DPlus have started to tighten up on having multiple installs with the same link criteria connect to the same reflector. No one knows why, but users are stating they're getting blocked for doing so, and no one seems to want to comment at source why ???

What is the callsign, as entered in the hotspot?
G1KEA or G1KEA-D ?
