BER Rate

Post by kb5wck » Thu May 23, 2019 4:57 pm

Is there a way to adjust the BER for YSF radios into the PiStar?
Thanks,

Yes the same as any other mode

pi-star/admin/expert click mmdvm host and make small adjustments to the Rx offset.

While that might be true for direct RF to the Pi-Star G4KLX-driven radio, exclusive of the individual communicating radio's problems, the Internet digital aspects introduce other uncontrollable variables. E.g., someone communicating with their mobile hotspot using a speaker microphone to their HT on a belt-clip, introducing signal attenuation based on body position relative to the Pi-Star antenna.

By the way, "BER" is an acronym for bit error rate, so the OP's Subject: "BER rate" is redundant, entirely forgivable, though ... you can say that again. Language conveys meaning.
