Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
Zumspot will connect to REF001C when set to connect automatically upon startup. I can hear traffic but Zumspot shows no local RF activity and hence I can not control the Zumspot. Any ideas?
Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
My first suggestion would be to use the control panel to unlink the reflector. THEN see if you can hit the hotspot with the radio.
Simplex hotspots will only hear the radio when the status is "listening" or "listening <last mode>". If you are on a busy reflector, you might not be getting into the hotspot because the traffic has it locked into transmit.
You haven't stated what model radio you are using but make sure the hotspot entry in it is configured as "repeater" with a 0.0 offset (hence transmits and receives on same frequency). Many systems will not work correctly if the radio is configured as a plain "simplex" system (for a th-d74, this means the channel mode must be DR, not DV -- and you enter your hotspot in the D-Star repeater list, not a regular memory).

Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
I have tried my Kenwood TH-74 (which is in DR mode), my Icom ID-4100 and IC-2820H with the same results.
When I tranmit the COS light and Dstar lights on the Zumspot are both lit.

Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
How do I disconnect using the Control panel?
Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
Okay I found the admin page and disconnected from the reflector. Can not connect with the radio and the local rf activity still shows nothing
Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
Take a look at the following image of the Admin page. You can see that D-STAR and DMR modes are enabled (green) and connected to the Network (green, again). In the main part of the page, you can see a D-Star Link Manager module. You can enter the Reflector and Module there, for example, REF001 C, select Unlink, and then click Request Change.

Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
Here's how I do it with my own TH-D74A:
To link to a reflector, for this example, XRF223BL, via my hotspot:
Mode: DR
Frequency: 446.225 << My hotspot's frequency
Via Destination Select > Direct Input (URCALL):
UR CALL: XRF223BL
Via Repeater Select > MY Hotspot:
RPT1: KE0FHS B << My hotspot's RPT1 Callsign
RPT2: KE0FHS G << My hotspot's RPT2 Callsign
MY CALL: KE0FHS
To chat once I'm linked:
Everything is the same, except:
Via Destination Select > Direct Input (URCALL):
UR CALL: CQCQCQ

Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
All is correct. The zumspot will not see any local rf activity. When I key up to disconnect the zumspot keys up with no audio and nothing happens
Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
Sounds like it's time to contact HRO.

Re: Zumspot not seeing local RF activity
The Zumspot is several years old, so I doubt HRO is goiing to help
