Hi,
I just updated one of my pi-star repeaters running 3.4.17 to 4.1-RC2.
DMR gateway seems to be completely broken, I can't make it work at all.
Am I the only one?
I'll try 4.0 instead as it is working fine one my duplex hotspot.
Regards,
G

Using DMRGateway here, works like it should do - can you elaborate on how its not working? Anything in the log to help?
Re: DMR Gateway broken in 4.1
Hi all,
I had something really funky going on there.
I re-installed everything from scratch and set-up the Brandmeister hotspot security as suggested now it all works.
I reckon DMRGateway is a bit difficult to configure and silently fails if you don't do the configuration right, which doesn't help.
Cheers,
Guillaume

Sorry mate, I did mean to respond more quickly (and I finally did, not even noticing you had removed your reply!).
I was too busy trying to make it work and experimenting.
I can surely tell now that DMRGateway is working as intended and I managed to run my own HBLink too.

So how’d you get it to work?
Re: DMR Gateway broken in 4.1
I activated hotspot security and re-installed everything from scratch with Pi-Star 4.1.0-RC2.
I then did all the configuration changes incrementally, testing each time to make sure that each new addition was not breaking a working setup (especially the DMRGW rules).
Happy to give more details over the air.

Re: DMR Gateway broken in 4.1
please give more information.
Re: DMR Gateway broken in 4.1
Look mate, I'm not going to walk you through all the details of MY configuration which is quite bespoke.
What about YOU tell what you want to achieve with DMRGateway and I can guide you with the possible configuration(s) and help you troubleshoot it if needed. DO not forget to include your existing DMRGateway configuration (and obfuscate the non default passwords for your privacy).
Cheers,
Guillaume

If you're using BrandMeister, enabling Hotspot Security in the DMR Configuration section is really important (and it's a somewhat recent change by BrandMeister, so it's still tripping people up). Instructions are on the Pi-Star Wiki: http://wiki.pistar.uk/Pi-Star_Brandmeis ... t_Security
