A reflector. Yes, but not which reflector/ protocol.
So as said. Not all reflectors require a person needs a registration.

The call sign I currently use (not G6KEE) is registered and I only have the D-star mode enabled in the Pi-Star Digital Voice Dashboard.

Two other questions,

I notice that there are some reflectors with the prefix DCS is there a difference between a DCS reflector and a REF reflector ?

What are the busiest English speaking reflectors I am currently listening to REF030B ?

There are 3 main types.

Dplus REF (mostly USA use. ref001c ref030c etc.)
Dextra XRF ( alternative to dplus (in the early days) where dplus wouldn't permit homebrew guys to connect)
DCS ( another alternative to dplus, mostly EU)

There's also XLX, which run all three protocols, Dplus, DExtra and DCS ) but general advice is to use the DCS protocol.
XLX is currently the most used alternative to dplus. Used extensively everywhere now (apart from USA, where dplus still holds strong)

UK extensively DCS005 B UK national, but also has alternative area modules, and talk modules, R S T

These are actually XLX, which has mostly taken over from DCS. One other feature of XLX code. It has the ability to cross into other modes (uses additional hardware) but it's poss to also see DMR and YSF users in there as well.
