Now it does stop running services when you change a setting and apply and it will restart on it's own which is normal.

Then you do not have an Elite Zum Spot. The Elite has Ethernet and wifi

Mine must be outdated

it's not on there.
Also talking to another guy on the phone we are thinking something went bad on the pi board. I setup the wifi config and it stays on inactive status

You need to look at the Pi board get the model number off the board. Then you should be able to just download the image of Pi Star for the board.
Well if you were in Pi-Star on the configuration page setting up your personal info that tells me the Pi booted up.

To my knowledge any Pi-Star version will work on any Raspberry Pi board. If you looking for a preconfigured image you need to stay with same make/model if I am not mistaking.

I downloaded the latest pistar, used PS UK to build my suplicant file, added that to the boot image file. Then put the card in went downstairs and tried setting up on my wife's computer with the pi sitting 5 feet from the modem (just in case it was because they were a story apart in a old house) followed this link that is specific for the hotspot I have! Followed it step by step.

Configured my wifi in the beginning just like her and it stays at (Interface Status : interface is down) and I try to configure my settings everything is fine till I tap apply changes. Then the computer thinks and thinks and thinks and eventually says 504 error gateway timeout

I swear this thing hates me!
Any idea what's going on? Or what to do
