To IK4NZD; Your statement [Since then there have been some changes in the ysf code, so it makes you think that the problem is there......] is correct.
For what I know until so far only pistar suffers from the disconnect problem. For example, WPSD does not have the disconnect issue.

when the connection is interrupted, pi-star rebuilds the connect! (eg. 24h reconnect or pi-star reboot)
The problem has existed since the takeover of DV-Ref. and is currently still a major construction site.

From what I have learned so far, the disconnect issue is related to something that is in the cron.daily file.
Due to lack of knowledge I can not find where exactly the issue occurs in this script.
I have run the HostFilesUpdate.sh script manually several times without any problem.
I suspect the issue occurs somewhere in the lines that connect to github. But as said I have not enough knowledge to confirm this.

The PiStar coders will have to look into this,
if it doesn't occur in elsewhere, the bug should be found.

I reverted last night to standar configuration and i think now the hotspot is working normally without connection lost after several hours. I hope the bug was squashed. I will keep my fingers crossed for that.

I agree that setting the timer longer than an hour is probably a good idea, I have been asked more than a few times to change YSFGateway to allow the use of host names, and now you can all see why I resisted doing so. Looks like we're going to need to go back to IP addresses again...
Here you can see I suggest to make the re-resolution time longer..

This is not a problem in Cron or changes to YSFGateway, this is exactly due to the move to support DNS names in the host file for YSFGateway.

Nope... disconnected again.
Updated the host generation back to IP-only... should be back to normality again now (when you next press update or the overnight updates run).
