Well you are connected to the Pi Star. Set up your personal information and finish configuring.

But how am I connected if my interface is down? Isn't that the connection? And what information are you meaning? Is this gateway issue something I need to change or?
I mean if it's not going to save part of it like it's supposed to then filling out everything and telling it to save it isn't going to work either if it's not talking to each other

If you are reading the top right corner Version number and dash board number you are connected to the pi-star dashboard.
I do not know how else to tell you what needs to be done. There are multiple tutorials online with pictures plenty of pdf documents with pictures of the configuration pages to setup pi-star.
I do not know what modes you trying to use but will tell you if you trying to connect to BrandMeister network you will need a DMR ID.

Hallelujah and pass the mustard!
Had a IT guy on FB take pity on me and remotely went in and set me up

1. The HRO video I was following when they edited the video they clipped off the bit were it said once you set and save your wifi config you need to power cycle the hotspot to lock it in! So it locks on the router wifi! (Duh HRO that's kind of a important step!)
Everything works perfect!
A week of stress for something to dumb!

Great! Yes simple stuff will drive you crazy at times.
On page 6 in Zum spot user guide for Mini 1.3 where it starts for setting up your WiFi SSID.
Then page 8:
Click on “Save (and connect)” to save the Wi-Fi configuration
Reboot your Mini 1.3 OLED ZUMspot kit
After 3 minutes, go to your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) and connect to the Pi-Star page:
http://pi-star.
SO I am guessing you never looked at the user guide and just followed the video.
