OLED section parameters documentation

Post by EA3BIL » Sun Jan 13, 2019 10:28 am

Hi,

Is it possible to have ALL the parameters documented?

I mean, What does each one & What are the accepted values.

Type:
??

Brightness:
Never mind the value, 0, 1, 16, 125, 192, 250... It seems to do nothing.

Invert:
Display information video format
0= Light text on dark background.
1= Dark text on light background.
Other values, have no effect.

Scroll:
Mode label when active scrolls:
0= No
1= Yes
Other values, have no effect.

Rotate:
Information showing "upside-down"
0= Info staring "left short" edge
1= Info endind "left short" edge
Other values, have no effect.

Cast:
??

Does someone have more information ??

It would be good to have it documented.

Thanks,
Rafa.

These are the ones I know about:
  • Set OLED Type: 3 = 0.96″ or 6 = 1.3″. After applying changes, reboot Pi-Star.
  • Change rotation: Rotate = 0 or 1.
  • Invert background: 0 = white text on black background or 1 = black text on white background.
  • Change brightness: 10 = bright or 0 = less bright (effect varies by modem board).
  • Thanks to Scott, VK7HSE, for this one: If your OLED display has garbled text, check your Display Level in the Expert Editor > MMDVMHost > Log section. It must be set to 0.

It appears to no longer be a valid setting in the configuration as of May 10, I don't know if its a valid setting in the MMDVMHost that comes with pi-star because Andy won't release the source code that he uses to make it.

Oky... :idea:

Let's summarize as follows:

Type:
3 = 0.96″ or
6 = 1.3″
After applying changes, rebooting Pi-Star is needed.

Brightness:
10 = brightest to
0 = less bright (effect varies by modem board)

Invert:
Display information video format
0= Light text on dark background. or
1= Dark text on light background.
Other values, have no effect.

Scroll:
Mode label scrolls when active:
0= No or
1= Yes
Other values, have no effect.

Rotate:
Information showing "upside-down"
0= Info staring "left short" edge or
1= Info endind "left short" edge
Other values, have no effect.

Cast:
It appears to no longer be a valid setting in the configuration as of May 10 2018.
