Has anyone have a general idea what a pi 0 and hat draw? Trying to make a power cord to plug into my trucks 12 volt fuse block. Trying di figure what voltage regulator I need trying to keep it as small as I can hoping to be able to cover it with heat shrink tubing.

Bud, W0RMT, posted a good article comparing the RPi 3A+, 3B+, and Zero W:
Choosing a Pi for your Pi-Star hotspot

The article includes information about energy usage. It should help you get closer to the answer you need.

Wow am I reading the specs correct? 180ma.
My pi-star CPU runs at 110 to 120 degrees when it was in a unvented c4 case 180ma at 5 volts how is it creating that much heat?
That's less than .9 watts. Or is my math fuzzy.
