Pi-Star 4.1 (Buster) / Raspberry Pi 4

Post by MW0MWZ » Mon Jun 24, 2019 11:40 am

For those of you really on the ball with what the Raspberry Pi Foundation is up to, you will already know that the Pi 4 (yes really, a new raspberry Pi board) is hitting the shelves about now, along with this release is a move to Raspbian Buster.

I'll be honest here, I didn't know for sure that they would move up to Buster but I was pretty sure it was coming soon, its part of why I have been sandbagging the Pi-Star v4 move to release. Its good and bad, bad because as usual I have no way to script the upgrade for you all, its too large and complex for me to make it a reliable possibility, but good because I can move directly to 4.1 (based on buster).

I have a new Pi 4 on order, although its going to be at least tomorrow before it gets here, and could be longer - that *SHOULD* beat most of you guys, but some of you may get one before me. Pi-Star is not expected to work on those without some tinkering, but I am hoping to push a beta image out very quickly for you all to test with.

So the plan is to get the 4.1 betas out in the next couple of days, get you all testing on that platform, fix up the remaining logging issues and get that into release status fairly quickly.

Download removed due to some issues with the WiFi setup - we'll put it back after some more testing....
