If a Repeater drops internet does the Repeater via Pi-Star, MMDVM still do local RF via TG9
If not can this be added so locals can still chat with each other when we have network outage or internet drops.
Many thanks

Right an update from a good friend
Pi-Star will run without internet for local traffic
The Repeater via a Raspberry Pi must be linked to a router.to see a/the static IP Address.
The Router then does not need to have internet access.
Also auto updates should be turned off
Turns out this way has been used for some time to make a stand alone MMDVM DMR repeater.

This seems to be common advice - and I really dont understand why - updates are a good thing, not a bad thing, I really dont get the point of turning them off.

On Repeaters we run them manually .
We run the updates on Hotspots first to make sure of no issues.
Then we will run manual update to bring all up to date.
But if you where running a DMR repeater and the internet went down or via no Internet as a stand alone it is better to turn off.
This way no issue will happen or unexpected changes to your settings.
Most updates is non repeater based and we will get them each month if we do run an update.
