Stop DMRIds update?

Post by PA2ZH » Thu Sep 12, 2019 12:08 pm

Hello,

how frequently does the file DMRIds.dat get updated in PI-STAR? And do I have the possibility to turn that off somehow? I dont want the file to be updated automatically.

HostFilesUpdate.sh gets invoked from the pistar-upgrade script which runs daily. Yes, there are methods to keep from updating the DMRIds.dat file, each with its own potential problems, but I'm curious why you would want to ... the file currently contains about 141,000 registered users to make your life easier. Just this morning it grew by a count of 79 new registrations.

Just to be clear, because this confuses many people, it's the pistar-update script that, among other things, updates the hosts files.
