Assume you have checked that pistar-update has succeeded before you run pistar-upgrade?
I think you will need to do the upgrade step twice, each one will move to the next version I think.

Are you sure you're running 4.1.0? The previous code line, 4.0.0, finished at RC4, and you can't upgrade directly from 4.0.0 to 4.1.0. Only 4.1.0 has had an RC5 and RC6 release.

Where are the 4.1 files located for download?

http://www.pistar.uk/beta/
And in case it's helpful, I wrote up a short step-by-step guide explaining how to upgrade from a previous code line (3.4.x or 4.0.0):
https://amateurradionotes.com/pi-star-u ... -to-v4.htm
There's also an official video explaining it by Craig, W1MSG (it's actually about upgrading to 4.0.0, but the same process applies to 4.1.0):

Thanks Toshen
I misread the file names there as 4.0 not 4.1, sorry.
Where are the files for RC5 and RC6? Or haven't they been released for general consumption.
Were any versions of 4.0 or 4.1 ever released or are they all still beta?

4.0.0, which enabled using Pi-Star with the RPi 3B+ and 3A+, never left beta, and was discontinued when 4.1.0 was released in order to enable using Pi-Star with Raspbian Buster and the RPi 4B.
In order to upgrade to the latest version of 4.1.0, you can install the 4.1.0-RC4 release candidate, then run Pi-Star Update (I recommend running it via SSH: sudo pistar-update, so that you also get the Raspbian Buster OS updates), and finally run Pi-Star Upgrade (either via the Expert Editor or via SSH; sudo pistar-upgrade). If you're on 4.1.0-RC4, you'll need to run Pi-Star Upgrade twice, once to upgrade to RC5 and a second time to upgrade to RC6.
