I have a Raspberry Pi 4B 4Gb RAM I have been using for another project, and a DVRPTR V1 that has been in the cupboard for a few years.
The firmware currently on the DVRPTR is V1.69b, and I have tried different firmware versions, however Pi-Star on the Pi 4B either cannot find the device or says the firmware is corrupt.
I have managed to get the DVRPTR board to connect DVRPTR Control Centre on a Windows 10 laptop, and that was a task in itself.
Just wondering if it should be possible to run this setup or not?
I have also ordered a MMDVM hotspot and Pi Zero W board, both of which are in the mail, but ETA is unknown at this stage.
Thanks
Steve

Re: DVRPTR V1 and Raspberry Pi 4B
Steve,
The DVRPTR V1 modem works well with Pi-Star but will only support D-Star. I have one running with with a Raspberry Pi 3 B and for radio I am using a low power Motorola GM300. I believe that the firmware in the DVRPTR modem is also V1.69b.
Make sure that in the Pi-Star Configuration Menu you select DStarRepeater and Simplex Node in the Control Software section. As configuration you can only select D-Star Mode and in the modem drop down list you select DVRPTR V1 (USB).
Hope this helps to get you going.

Re: DVRPTR V1 and Raspberry Pi 4B
Carlos,
Thanks for the advice. It has been a few days since I last tried so I will try again later today with a fresh install of Pi-Star.

Re: DVRPTR V1 and Raspberry Pi 4B
Re-flashed to SD card with 4.1.0-RC7. I think I have got the settings right

Re: DVRPTR V1 and Raspberry Pi 4B
It seems the DVRPTR V1 USB modem is not yet functional on Pi-Star 4B+ with the latest release candidate.
I eventually powered up the old Raspberry Pi 2011.12 board to see if it would work with Pi-Star V3.4.17..... bingo:
I: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: Modem type set to "DV-RPTR V1"
I: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: DV-RPTR V1, port: /dev/ttyACM0, RX invert: 1, TX invert: 0, channel: A, mod level: 35%, TX delay: 150 ms
I: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: DV-RPTR Modem Firmware version: 1.69b, hardware: DV-RPTR R.2012-08-08
M: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: Found modem path of ../../devices/platform/soc/20980000.usb/usb1/1-1/1-1.2/1-1.2:1.0/tty
I: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: Controller set to , config: 1, PTT invert: 0, active hang time: 0 ms
I: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: Output 1 = 0, output 2 = 0, output 3 = 0, output 4 = 0

M: 2019-12-22 01:14:10: Starting the D-Star repeater thread
So the DVRPTR still works and the RPi V4 has other duties for now.
Thanks to Carlos for the help.
