Nothing is written to the 2.4" Nextion Ddisplay ??

Please forgive me if I've posted this to the wrong area (I am a newbe to digital radio and this old ham is slow to learn new tricks <gr>
I have a ZUMspot-RPi kit with the Nextion 2.4 display and though I have the pistar configured correctly and I have used it I've noticed the display has not changed at all since I took it out of the box. I have rebooted the system a number of times with no success. Could this be a problem with the kit (C4LABS) or am I forgetting something in the config?
