MMDVM_HS COS LED remains lit

My board is N5BOC/LONESTAR dual hat; however, I've spoken with other pi-star users on air and they too have same COS LED occurrence.
The pi-star & hat boot from power up. The yellow COS LED is off. It stays off until the first inbound RF signal opens the hat. The yellow COS LED lights (on) as well as the other applicable LEDs for mode (in my case and the other on air buddies is P25 mode) and PTT (dual hat repeater mode). The RF activity ends, The PTT extinguishes (OFF) immediately. The P25 mode LED extinguishes as it should (on expiry of the hang time interval).
The yellow COS LED remains --forever-- lit (on).
Only a hard reboot will clear (off) the COS LED.
Latest 1.4.17 firmware. Also tried 1.5.1b.
Pi 3B+. updated/upgraded to 4.19.97-v7+/4.1.0-RC8.
