Pi Zero WiFi Problem

I have a Pi Zero that becomes a hotspot and allows you to attach to its WiFi when it can’t find any WiFi to connect to, but after you input the SSID AND PW for the home WiFi (or provide the Info via the Supplement process) and reboot it just hangs and does connect or go into the hotspot mode.

I have used Angry IP scanner to look for it on the local LAN but it’s not there.

Any thoughts?

When it has gone into AP mode you don't need to reboot anything, just scan for it using a mobile phone or other WiFi capable device.

Once you have found it and connected then you can edit the WiFi configuration.

An easier method is to use the WiFi builder here:

https://www.pistar.uk/wifi_builder.php

and once you have the settings for your local WiFi simply copy the wpa_supplicant.conf file to the root of the /boot filesystem (the only one you can easily see on a Windows system) and then put the card back in the Pi and reboot it. It should use the file to correctly setup the WiFi and connect to it, meaning that you don't need to mess about with AP mode.
