Screen replacement

Post by KO4DNG » Fri Jun 26, 2020 12:09 am

Can the screens be replaced easy? I have a zumspot that has a crack in the lower corner, causing the ‘DSTAR’ logo at the top to have missing pixels. HRO rep says it’s just a font, and no problem. Anyway if I want to replace it, can just pop it off the four pin header and plug in an identical new one?

I doubt it is just pushed on to a pin header, most of the ones I've seen are soldered in place.

So yes you can replace it with an identical unit the key there is to make sure the ordering of the 4 pins is exactly the same, I've seen some with a different ordering. You also should make sure it uses the same chipset. There are also various colors and color combinations to choose from.
