I recently moved from a simplex to a duplex hotspot.
I thought one of the advantages of the duplex spot was that you could disconnect (4000) even when the hotspot was transmitting. I am unable to do so.
Should this work? Should I be able to disconnect a timeslot that is currently transmitting?
Thanks

Re: Duplex Hotspot Disconnect
Just curious, but you /did/ reconfigure the radio to use separate send/receive frequencies? And the Pi-Star configuration is set to "duplex"?Ae4g wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 2:29 pm I recently moved from a simplex to a duplex hotspot.

(That "half-duplex" comment on the config page is rather perplexing -- my best guess is that it means a regular hotspot that shifts frequencies between transmit and receive/listening stage; why one would want to tie up two frequencies when only one can be active at a time is beyond me).

Re: Duplex Hotspot Disconnect
Dennis,
Thanks for the response.
Yes, I have setup the radio with the correct duplex split for the new hotspot and am running the hotspot in full duplex mode.
The hotspot appears to be working correctly (except for the inability to disconnect a timeslot while it is transmitting).
Just to verify - that should work, correct?

Re: Duplex Hotspot Disconnect
I don't have a duplex board, so can't test personally -- I'm mostly drawing on concepts from what DMR radios are capable of doing...
Does the radio open the channel, or give you a busy beep when you PTT in this situation? That is, I believe, the "Admit Criteria" and "In Call Criteria" of the channel configuration (as labeled in my Tyt MD390 code plug editor).

Thanks for the reply.
I have both my Admit Criteria and In Call Criteria set to “Always”.
If I keep the PTT pressed long enough, I do get the busy/denied tone.
My radio is the TYT UV380/Retevis RT3S.

Re: Duplex Hotspot Disconnect
What do you see if you open a log window in a second browser tab? There should be something appearing there.

Re: Duplex Hotspot Disconnect
Update:
My CPS has an option called “Tx Interrupt” in the In Call Criteria field.
When I select this option I do not get the busy/denied tone.
I watched my Pistar dashboard and using this option my hotspot does see me transmitting to TG4000. However, the dynamic talkgroup that is active still doesn’t disconnect.

CPS stands for Confusion Propagation Software.Ae4g wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 5:08 pm Update:

What time slot is the busy group operating in?
