Think this is the most relevant thread for the issue I'm having...so here goes...please advise if there's a more relevant one however:

Recently enabled YSF on my PiStar repeater (repeater not hotspot).

When I press the WiresX button nothing happens, however if I give the PTT a longer press (2secs) the repeater wakes and then the WiresX button functionality will return the room info and allow me to change rooms etc...seems like a timeout issue but it's strange that in idle the WiresX button has no effect until a longer PTT to wake??

Any ideas? Anyone come across this before and know a workaround?

My setup is a PiStar running on a 3b+ connected to a Yaesu DR1X repeater.

DStar works perfectly.
DMR works perfectly.

Yep, that's the way you need run it. When idle the data burst from a X command is often to short to wake the install. Keying up before hand allows the modem to grab and 'lock' to the mode.

On my FT3D I tap the X button a second time for the hotspot, same with the '400.

Yep. One def. help would be to turn off all the other modes.

Haha...that’s not happening

Out of interest is this the same across the entire WiresX capable range or just certain models that have this issue?

In my case I only have YSF enabled though I also have YSF2DMR configured. I have to push the Wires-X button 2 times to wake it up. This is with an FT3. I don't remember my FT2 doing this with PI-Star v3.

Try adjusting rx offset slightly to improve BER aiding the install to better recognise you. But as said the initial Xbutton burst is a very short tx.
