Hi group. I am helping a fellow ham (HI8DL) to get on Dstar with his Icom 9700 and a MMDVM Hotspot, running Pi-Star. He did the required registration and his call is registered (confirmed). But whatever we do, he cannot open any of the REF Reflectors. It works perfect with the XLX and XRF reflectors. In fact, when I use my call in his Hotspot, then it works! Did the same on my side, placed his call in my Hotspot, and it then refused to connect to any of the REF reflectors.
Any help, tips or advice is really welcome. 73 de Brett, PJ2BR

Who did he register with? Need to be registered on the network for REF reflectors to work (and then it can take a little time to get out to all the reflectors to)

I recently found the same problem.
Two fellows hams have to register there callsign, and after we check the Register site we try to use the Ref Network.
My observation was:

If we user a ICOM repeater connect to a Ref, I can see there's Tx on a Pi-star hotspot, crossing the reflector. The other way around it is not true.
But with my call sign, we have no issues.
