D-star setup not working

I have a problem. I am using version pi-star 4.1.6 and also have a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B Rev 1.1. On the dashboard and admin under modes enabled D-STAR is showing red. Occasionally it goes to green then almost immediately back to red. Any ideas how to fix this. Here is what my dashboard looks like.

For analysis purposes, that image is essentially unusable, having been shrunk to a size where only the page header is legible.
All I can make out is that the D-STAR /network/ shows green, D-STAR mode is red, AND so are MMDVMHOST and (less used I believe) D-STAR REPEATER.
You'll have to SSH into the board and examine the relevant logs to see if they report failures for whichever controller software you have specified.
