XLX interlink unstable on portabe stations with weak signal

Dear all,
I have more than one pi-star multimode repeater linked togheter by XLX server on the local network. I have observed that stations like portable/mobile stations in bad coverage areas have of course small signal/voice drop out that are immediately recovered on the main repeater where they are transmitting, but other repeaters linked by XLX sometimes does not recover the voice stream and stay muted for several seconds or till the end of the communication.
Stations with stable strong signal works perfectly and are never lost on any linked repeater.
I saw this problem on both Dstar and DMR linked by XLX. Does anyone have the same problem and is there any setting/suggestion to solve/improve this?
