Hi all,
Currently my Pi3B is powered by my modem's USB port. I'm also using the Ethernet cable for connection to the internet.
Can I eliminate the Ethernet cable and use the USB cable for both power and comms? If so how?
Thank you
Cheers
Darryl
Connect RPI to Modem/router via USB port only
Re: Connect RPI to Modem/router via USB port only
It's a USB 3 Port.
Re: Connect RPI to Modem/router via USB port only
I don't believe power is an issue, RF output is set to 5%. and still pegs my s-meter.
Any information pertaining to my original question or even just whether or not it is even possible?
If it's not at all possible it's working fine as is. I just wanted to reduce the rat's nest of wires around my router.
Thanks
Darryl
