FM mode issues - intermittent transmit issue

Hello all!
I enabled FM mode which seemed to work just fine. Now the transmitter keys up intermittently.
The intermittent issue goes away when i disable FM mode.
Squelch setting is normal. I only have 2 settings in CPS, normal or tight.
what setting in FM mode should i be looking at to see if the problem goes away?
And is there a glossary of the parameters?
