I also built hotspot pistar + baofeng dm-1801(opengd77). Hotspot often does not work for me, when I try to send a test message to the "parrot", the message is sent to me and often does not come back. What could be the reason?

The ability for us to add open gd77 was via info supplied to us from open gd77 themselves but at that time it was only available for use with the gd77 radio. Just because the radio accepts open gd77 firmware doesnt mean it has the same internal infrasctruture. Which might be why your seeing an issue. Im not sure at this point what else to add except open gd77 support in pistar is still, AFAIA only offered for the gd77 radio itself and not its clones.
Might be worth checking with them themselves if there are differences and what they may be.

The OpenGD77 hotspot works on all supported models (MD9600/RT90 included), except the RD-5R (hardware issue).
Looks like a network issue (MMDVMHost/DMRGateway/Firewall/etc).
