Hi,

Complete Pi-star newbie here, so please excuse me if this is a silly question.

If I use my Yaesu FT2D to search Wires-X for CQ-UK, it returns 7 results. This is the same as a search on the following pistar web page...
https://www.pistar.uk/ysf_reflectors.php

However, if I search the following Yaesu Wires-X Rooms page, there is only one result returned!...
https://www.yaesu.com/jp/en/wires-x/id/active_room.php

Am I missing something? why does pistar show different results to the Yaesu site? Does pistar have several aliases for the same room?

The Yaesu site lists WiresX rooms, and the PiStar link lists YSF reflectors.

Just to clarify, YSF doesn't mean 'Yaesu System Fusion'. YSF is a similar, yet totally different system than WiresX. There are no YSF rooms nor are there any WiresX reflectors.

The Pi-Star will do YSF and happily connect to YSF reflectors, but the Pi-Star will not access WIresX rooms. Some YSF reflectors are bridged to be connected to WiresX rooms, but that depends on the reflector you are connecting to.

I am not familiar with the various CQ-UK YSF reflectors to tell know which, if any, is bridged to the CK-UK WiresX room, hopefully someone else can comment on that.

Hmmm. OK, thanks guys. Looks like I still have a very steep learning curve to climb. Each time I think I'm starting to understand, something comes along to dash my confidence.

I tried several of the pi-star CQ-UK YSF reflectors and they all 'seemed' to point to the same Wires-X CQ-UK 'Room'. Looks like I need to do more research.
