Hi my name is Mike. Although being licenced since the early 1990's and doing a lot of 2 metre SSTV and packet radio up until the mid 2000's where whilst keeping my licence active, I took a break to pursue other hobbies and interests, I have recently returned to amateur radio with a foray into FT8 on HF. I have just finished building and setting up a Jumbospot hotspot for use with my Yaesu FT70 DE. It took some time getting the offsets right and the BER in the green sector taking into account the TXCO temperature drift as the hotspot warms up.
I am new to digital voice using Pi-Star. I have a question about what the Live log button and page is on Pi-Star.
What does it do and what is it used for? Is it a type of contacts log book? I would be most grateful for any information and instructions as to its use.

It allows you to see what the mmdvmhost and modem is doing in real time, if you open a new tab from the live log menu entry you should see output and you can read it and maybe then ask any further questions then.
