Zumspot verification of D-star last heard

I recently moved into a rental while my house is being built. The rental comes with wifi but without access to the router or firewall. I connected my Zumspot without difficulty, but I do not see it on D-Star last heard. Is that normal? Also when I key up, I sometimes hear a double beep from the zumspot, and sometimes a single beep. What do those beeps mean?
