MMDVM YSF problem

Having a problem connecting the MMDVM to YSF with the Yaesu FT-70D radio.
Setting the hotspot to YSF is fine. I get the green on the dashboard. Soon as I go into configuration it shows no frequency and nothing for it to connect to. BER is fine but as soon as I TX it goes red and shuts off.
I have used this for DMR and setting up another for YSF but it does not seem to feel the need to cooperate. So any ideas as to how this is?
