Is Dashboard automatically cleared or is system automatically rebooting?

Post by DL5OCR »

hello,

i am not sure if everything is fine with my hotspot. The dashboard should show the last 20 entrys, like in the description. But sometimes old entrys are missing. For example today morning; yesterday i sent over the hotpsot; but today morning my callsign was missing in the table via HF...could it be that the dashboard is deleting entrys older than XXX? Or does the pi-star perform a reboot every day?

Thank you

First, the log is "rotated" (trimmed) at least once a day (assuming you leave your hotspot on for extended periods of time). Secondly, the log file is trimmed at other indeterminate points in time based on accumulated size to prevent it from maxing itself out.

If this programmed trimming seems excessive or happening too frequently, it may be because of excessive activity (runaway condition?) on the net(s) that is causing the log to fill up quickly with various messages that aren't shown on the dashboard.
